Howdy y'all,
This morning, I saw some valuable posts in the Big Questions/Naming board, but they weren't really on topic. They had to do with Gratepool's project to document "Portraits of Activism" (My words, not his).
While I welcome any and all discussions - on any topic - I REALLY want to try to focus on core issues. Consequently, I've created a new category "Off Topic" and board "Member Projects", then I moved the three posts to a new thread (Group Authored Book) in the "Member Projects" board.
In the same vein, Gratepool also posted an interesting funding idea, but it didn't really belong in the "Naming" thread. So off I went and created an "Other Stuff" category and "Funding" board to which I moved Gratepool's post.
Going forward, if you want to start a new discussion that doesn't fit in the existing framework, Please PM (Private Message) the Administrator group and describe what you want and where it might fit in the hierarchy. We'll do our best to respond quickly. And if we don't respond within 24 hrs, go ahead and make your post in the closest place you can - and PM the Administrator group letting us know what you did.
I don't want to, nor do I intend to stifle any opinions here, but the forum was created with a specific purpose, and I want to keep things on topic. I will not change the content of any post - unless it's an ad hominem attack on another member. I reserve the right to rearrange WHERE posts appear and to change the subject of a post to fit the structure. I also reserve the right to be more draconian, but since we're screening members, I expect that won't ever even have a hint of happening!
