I admit its derivative.. and a little bit "precious". But I'm evaluating my naming ideas in terms of how they might sound the first time Chris Hayes says them on the air..and i kinda liked this one.
I do think its succinct, evocative, and memorable.. and, like "The Voting Revolution", it speaks to the goals and the spirit of the organization at once.

I think this name is very clever. Rage Against the Machine is a good parallel to make for fighting against the establishment!
suffrageagainstthemachine.com and suffragemachine.com are both available

I like it - for all the reasons mentioned. But I worry that too few people will recognize that "suffrage" means "right to vote". Yes, it was the Women's Suffrage movement, but that ended (successfully) over 90 years ago. Not a common vocabulary word these days!

If your worried about people not understanding suffrage put in a straightfoward subtitle.

I didn't think that people wouldn't recognize the meaning of the word "suffrage" so I asked my husband and brother if they knew what it meant. They didn't, I was very surprised. I still really like the title, and concur with gratepool that we could have a subtitle to clear up any confusion; however, I do understand the desire to have the organization's purpose immediately recognizable.

Including Vote or Suffrage in the name *is* important IN THE DOMAIN NAME. As gratepool said, the subtitlte or the words at the top of the site do NOT have to be the domain name.
In fact, this is a marketing STRENGTH. Get the words used together to act as a meme that inevitably leads to our site.
Re-EvolveTheVote.com / An American Re-Evolution as an example does do that.
Suffrage unfortunately *is* an archaic word. Short and punchy is a good goal. While we are cognizant of how it would sound rolling off Chris' lips, we want all the network anchors and all the media to ultimately talk about it. How THEY will say it may matter even more!

GF - especially in his last paragraph - has echoed my feelings on the use of the word "suffrage". And far more clearly than I have. And I'm NOT surprised at the results of GrooveGrl4's informal poll!
